The tTG IgA test is a serological blood test that detects IgA antibodies against tissue transglutaminase, an enzyme targeted in celiac disease (CD). This assay is useful in evaluating patients with Celiac disease including those with compatible symptoms, atypical symptoms and individuals at increased risk like positivity for HLA DQ2 / DQ8. It is also used as a screening test for Dermatitis herpetiformis. The test monitors adherence to gluten free diet.
